Peppermint Sugar Scrub

I am pretty sure no one at this point is following my blog because, I can not seem to keep it updated!  Oh well it will be my little journal!  Here are my teachers gifts and co-worker gifts.  Thanks to Pinterest I came up with a wonderful winter scent for my sugar scrub PEPPERMINT!!
Ingredients-I use Almond Oil because it is lighter than most oils and provides very little color alteration to the finish product, I do not add coloring to my product so what ever color the essential oil is that's is the color of the product, I do not like the yellow tint other heavier oils can give.

Mixing!
I found these cute containers at The Container Store in Green Hills, I had been purchasing jars from Hobby Lobby, but, I could not find the ones that I liked and since Peppermint is not something you would use to shave with, a small amount is more suitable for this project.

Here is the finished project I just printed labels on my PC and stamped an image in silver to add a special touch, of yeah and my favorite part of this is the tiny scoop, I was going to put tongue depressors in to mix and scoop but, those gross me out after one use.  SO, which in the The Container Store I found these cute tiny scoops.....I am a sucker for anything mini!

Pendants! Coyotes Fundraiser!

I have to share with you all the new craft I have been working on, glass pendants and bottle caps.  I am making these to raise money for the Coyotes Cheerleaders travel team.  I am selling them for $10 with a cord necklace.  They are a fun project, it would be neat to make them at a girls birthday party for them to take home as a little present.

Back to School!

I was able to get time in to make this little treat for my son's 5ht grade teacher!  You know how they are always begging for pencils for the kids well here is a cute idea to start the year.
This is a printed design that I adhered to a soup can

These are the pencils with "teacher" stickers to label them so they get returned to the teachers desk when she loans them out.  You can do this with white board markers or pens, sharpies and highlighters too!  This would also make a great teach Christmas gift.

Stamp'in Up

I started out as box store scrapbooker, when I was introduced to Close to My Heart I thought my life will never be the same!  Then I discovered Stamp'in Up and oh my has my life changed again!  I love both companies, but for the card crafter I like Stamp'in Up a little better, I would however love to see them make clear polymer stamps, they are easier to work with!  On to the card front this is what Taylor and I made during the CKC vendor fair where we met some wonderful ladies!

I am thinking these are cute but, the would be even better as Christmas cards with some blues and purples, this set reminds me of snow flakes.  I love the shimmer on the card, you can not see it well but, we crumpled up cello and clipped it with a office clip, then dipped it in paint (gold) them dabbed it around LOVE this new technique!

CKC-Nashville Creations

Ok so I know it has been FOREVER since I posted, but I had my very first experience at CKC!  I only had time to go to the vendor fair this year, but I got lots of new ideas!  Here are some of the things I made!

I love everything, I could have spent millions, however my husband has me on a tight budget!  Since I NEVER make any money on my crafts I always do everything for everyone just because I like to!  However I am still selling the bottle cap necklaces and now the glass pendents, message me if you are interested, I can make them with any image!

Vinyl Bag

Just wanted to share a bag I did for a co-worker.  This is one of those handy plastic reusable bags, I did have to buy this one at a local store because I was specifically looking for zebra print, but this is more of my vinyl work.  Loved how it turned out.  I would like to get some with lime green or aqua straps and do them as beach bags for the summer!  Tell me what you think!

Quick and Easy!

Just wanted to show a simple card I put together today, I know Mother's Day is this weekend and I have been super busy with baseball, so while the kids were out with Terry I took a moment to put this card together for my mother-in-law.  I love the bright summer colors and really this could be used as card for any occasion.

Bottle Cap Necklace

Oh what a day off and a box in the mail can do!  Today proved to be extremely interesting, had a function with the Station Hill Coyotes.  Then had to run into Cool Springs for TJ's appointments and I had a chiropractor appointment, Dr. Hinz makes me feel so much better when I see him.  When I came home what was on my door step you ask......a box from the bottle cap company!  Yeah!  I had ordered these bottle caps and necklaces to make a dear friend of mine her very own Coyotes personalized necklace for her birthday.  Check it out and see what you think.

I have more materials, so if some one is interested in their own custom bottle cap necklace let me know!  I can do about any logo you want!

At Last!

So some of you may remember this card a month or so ago!

I was so excited about this negative image stamp I had picked up, and had big plans for!  Well a month later I finally finished my big plans!  I stamped the image with my versamark and then embossed with white powder and there is sat ready to be colored.......

Slowly I began to color the flowers with copics (R85, R83, R81).  Yes I colored this baby petal by petal.  I would color some get tired of it or busy and walk away.  Today I decided to take a vacation day from work and just hang out give myself some down time.  So when I came to my craft room/office/ guest bedroom, to print off my calendar of things to do for the next 3 months, there it was staring back at me.  Reminding me I had to get it done before mothers day because I intend to make it into a card for my mother.  So, I did it, finished it up!  Here it is tell me what you think!

Close up of the detail (oh the painstaking detail)

Now I can feel accomplished for the day!  Look at this 2 post back to back, see I haven't totally forgotten about my blog!

Sugar Scrub-Yum!

Well I am at it again!  I had to think of a good gift for a co-workers birthday and I have been dieing to try and make a sugar scrub ever since I seen it on the Southern Stamper Blog.  So here is my first attempt, and I love it.  I made it Tangerine scented since it was a fun spring scent.  I made 2 of these super cute jars (which I found at Hobby Lobby (on sale!).  Then Taylor insisted that she help so we made her a batch, however it is just in a zip lock container ;)

I have been using spray adhesive a bunch lately and this stuff is great at getting it off and leaves my hands feeling so soft.  Taylor and I use it before we shave and it gets all the old dead skin off and you can shave without using shave gel and you are super smooth no cuts, and best of all your not dried out after you shave.  I am going to sell these jars for $8 at a Relay for Life event and donating the money to the organization.  Let me know if you are interested in purchasing a jar.  I also have Jasmine scented scrub.  The ingredients are all natural (nothing fake about this stuff!)

Birthdays and Bows!

Long time no post!  Yes this is why I have my reservations about a blog!  I get super crafty for a while and then whamp back to reality I have 3 kids and a full time job which requires more than 24 hours in a day!  So, I had to get my mother-in-laws gift ready since her birthday is this week (time crunch!!!).

I have been on a bow kick since I made the wine basket, I am in search of the best bow tool!  I LOVE my bow easy for my cards and have thought several times about making a BIGGER version of it to use.  I went out and bought the Bowdabra, which my user rating on it is O.K. I am not super excited about it but, I have not really worked with it a lot so that may be why I am not super thrilled (good thing there was a coupon involved with the purchase!).  I refuse to buy a Jiffy bow because my super handy Dad can make me one much cheaper than I can purchase one!  I also hate to purchase the star bow maker thingy because again why not just make your own! I say all of this because I played with the Bowdabra to make the bow for the present.  So check it out and see my 1st attempt at it!
I would try to make it prettier but, I have a time issue they are droping my son off and I want to have the present ready to go in oh, lets say a hour (yikes)!

Since I am in such a time rush the card had to be super simple!  Thank goodness that while on my shopping day with my Mom yesterday I was able to stop by Sassy Scrapper.  I have been dieing to get a "negative image" stamp after I was inspired by another bloggers card.  So I happen upon this awesome Hero Arts stamp, my original plan was to stamp it then emboss with white embossing powder and then color with Copics as I saw on the blog.  Well, I don't have time to color so..... here it is stamped with Close to My Heart inks, I added the Happy Birthday stamp after the base stamp had dried.
Well I guess that wraps up the post for the day!  I swear I will try to post more offten!  Trust me as soon as I get to try the embossing and coloring this image I will put it up for you to see it!  It is an awesome look!

Home Decor

About a year ago when I moved to my current position at the hospital, I also upgraded to an actual office.  I happen to work with a decorating diva, and she had helped most of the people in our department put their offices together.  She had an awesome magazine that showed 9 12x12 squares covered in scrapbook pattern paper and hung on a wall, it was an really neat look.  I happened to be stumped at the time on what to hang on the wall that I would be facing every day.  So I went out to purchase all the materials and make these squares.  Luck would have it I could not find 9 different papers I liked in the same color scheme.  I found 2 pieces of fabric I LOVED!  Now what was a girl to do?  I was milling through the idea and found 3 3'x1' foam boards.  I had learned long ago from my mother when doing flowers or anything artistic it must be in odd numbers, so I raced back to the fabric department and picked up a solid.  I used only a ½ yard of fabric per board.  I used Elmer’s spray adhesive and sprayed the foam board sections at a time and laid the fabric on the board “smoothed” with my hand to get the wrinkles out. I then folded the fabric over like I was wrapping a present.  On the back side I used hot glue to ensure the fabric was secure.  I used push in picture hangers (secured with LOTS of hot glue).  They are super light weight so a tiny nail holds them up.  I tossed the idea of using ribbon to hang them but in the end like the clean look of the boards themselves.

Here they all done and in my office!  They go wonderful with my black white and red theme!

Final Product

So, after getting the wine and there being 2 bottles I had to make it into a wine basket.  I am however excited with the out come.  I wish I was better at more puffy bows, so if there is a tool out there to assist in making bows like that I am in need of one!  I guess that means I am on the hunt again huh!  I have to say I am proud of this one and love the basket idea even more than the original bucket!

Sorry the photos aren't great I had to finish it up at the office and take the pictures with my phone in my office!  I was dieing to post it though!

House Warming Basket

My "craft" business is slowly building, here is the house warming gift I created for a customer.  I love putting this together!  I etched the wine glasses and used Viva Decors Precious Metal paint on the cheese cloth drip towel.  The card was a quick creation just to play on the color.

Purple!

Purple is my favorite color!  I love this stamp because it works so well for embossing!
Yes, I am in love with my bow made easy tool and my daughter has said that it has become my signature to have a bow on my projects!

I am working on a wine bucket with glasses and a drip towel I can not wait to show you all.  I am using a new product to me so this should be exciting! I will keep you posted!

Cutest Digi Stamp Ever!

Love digi stamps they are my new passion!  Most of them are super easy to color with Copics, unfortunately my collection of Copics at this time is not enough to color all that I wish to with them.  So this card was colored with blendable colored pencils from Close To My Heart.

A "Taylor Made Vinyl" Creation

My daughter Taylor and I have a tag team little business, we do vinyl on anything and everything!  I cut and peel and she does all the artistic placing of polka-dots.  When it comes to spacial planing I just can't seem to get with it!  However, her art eye is wonderful and she does awesome!
This would be the artist Taylor
for the record this was her 1st school dance on Friday!

Wine Glass
This was a Christmas ornament we made for all my co-workers!

Set of wine glasses
We also make wine buckets to match, before I started to blog I had created several "wine baskets" to donate for auctions, they are always a hit.

This is my 1st attempt at a blog, I thought I would share my Valentine's Day Creations.
